Lingfei Zhang

Student at Eastman School of Music

Lingfei Zhang, born in China, began to play the piano at four years old.

From 2014 to 2019, She studied with Liping Jiang, a professor at Wuhan Conservatory. In 2017, she was admitted to the high school affiliated with Wuhan Conservatory, ranking first in the national admission.

In 2020, she was admitted to and received high scholarships from six famous conservatories including Eastman, Manhattan, Oberlin, Mannes, Boston, and Cincinnati. Currently, she is completing her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Eastman School of Music, studying with Professor Douglas Humpherys.

She has won a number of awards. In 2014, she was awarded “Star of Art” at her middle school and reported by the newspaper in Xiangyang. In 2015, she won the final round of the “Changjiang Piano” Youth Piano Competition. Also, she was interviewed and reported by the educational weekly newspaper “Xiangyang Evening News”. In May 2019, she won the final round of the Hanover International Elite Invitational Piano Competition in the professional youth group.

In 2018 and 2019, she participated in the 4th and 5th "North Coast Piano Festival", where she studied with Professor Douglas Humpherys, Jerome Lowenthal, Alvin Chow, Zhe Tang, Hone Xu, Thomas Schumacher, Dahao Guo, Berry Snyder, Alexander Kobrin, Tian Ying, Olga Kern, and Daniela Mineva.

In July 2019, she hosted a solo recital at Yamaha Music Salon.
