Shiyang Fan

Shiyang Fan was born in Shenzhen, China in 2001. She currently majors in piano performance at the Boyer College of Music, studying with renowned pianist Ching-Yun Hu. Previously, she studied with Xiaoping Wu at the Vanke Meisha Academy in Shenzhen, China.  Shiyang has won many awards, including First Prize in the Asian Youth Piano Festival, First Prize in the National Steinway & Sons Piano Competition and First Prize in the 9th Shenzhen Piano Competition. In 2007, she gave two performances in the United States as one of the representatives of the Shenzhen University. In 2021, she held her debut solo recital in China. She has taken part in masterclasses with renowned pianists and professors including Robert McDonald, Dang Tai Son, Alexander Korsantia, Gary Graffman and Yoheved Kaplinsky. Shiyang has participated as a young artist at the PYPA Piano Festival (Philadelphia Young Pianists’ Academy) and at the Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain.
