During the PYPA Piano Festival, young artists are invited to participate in the Philadelphia International Piano Competition. In 2024, the competition will be in the format of live recital performances: each young artist will perform a solo performance of free repertoire up to 20 minutes. Performances will be available to the general public in person and streamed virtually worldwide.

Guidelines

 

    • The 2024 Philadelphia International Piano Competition is open to all 2024 PYPA young artists.

    • Participation in the competition is optional.

    • All performances must be from memory.

    • All winners are required to perform in the winners' concert on August 4, 2024 at The Academy of Vocal Arts.

    • All judges' decisions are final.

  • Each young artist will perform a free repertoire up to 20 minutes in a live recital setting. The performances are judged based on overall presentation, artistry and engagement with the audience.
